Sun Coast Packaging History
Founded in 1995 by the Grams family, Sun Coast Packaging began as a small, family-owned business delivering high-quality flexible packaging solutions. Starting with a modest 5,000-square-foot warehouse in Baroda, Michigan, and a dedicated, hands-on team, the company quickly earned a reputation for dependable quality and responsive customer service.
By 2007, strong customer demand led to a major expansion into a 230,000-square-foot facility in Sodus, Michigan. This growth enabled Sun Coast to scale operations, expand product capabilities, and introduce in-house printing for small and custom bag applications—allowing the company to provide tailored, innovative packaging solutions for its growing customer base.
Today, Sun Coast Packaging continues to uphold the values that built its foundation—family-driven service, reliable quality, and a commitment to long-term relationships that put customers first.
Sun Coast Packaging Joins United Bags
In February 2020, Sun Coast Packaging joined the United Bags family, expanding its ability to deliver flexible packaging solutions to an even broader customer base. Under United Bags’ ownership, Sun Coast gained access to a robust product portfolio, nationwide logistics network, and advanced technological resources—enabling the company to scale operations, enhance capabilities, and better serve customers across multiple industries.
From one family business to another, this acquisition strengthened Sun Coast’s operational capacity while preserving the family-driven values and customer-first culture that have defined the company since its founding.
